Hellooo, The Internet!!! So, today I'm reviewing the book 13 minutes which is a completely gripping murder mystery and it is absolutely amazing with a very unusual and unexpected twist. This book is a mix of Pretty Little Liars and Mean Girls for the social media generation. The book shows off the author's (Sarah Pinborough's) fantastic and gripping writing skills.

My Version of the Blurb:

13 minutes portrays the dark secondary school world (we're all just too used to living in) where appearances matter more than life and death with its toxic relationships, constant betrayals, and extreme petty blackmail. Social media plays an important role in the school but is used to manipulate and tear others down, even though you may not realize how much control certain people have. As any school, it has toxic relationships that on the outside look perfect; these relationships can make you feel trapped. But what if the only way to get out was to hurt that person? Would you do it, or stay as their minion? This murder mystery is carefully crafted to make us question our relationships. It's a beautiful unsettling psychological mystery/thriller.

The Story Plot:

Natasha is found in the river, early winter morning by a dog walker, Jamie, and his dog 'biscuit'. When the ambulance arrives she's been dead for 13 minutes but they bring her back, however, once she wakes up she's forgotten everything that happened the night before. The other 'Barbies', Hayley and Jenny, (their version of 'the plastics') start acting suspiciously around their leader. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether someone is your enemy or your best friend. Natasha starts to suspect they did something and recruits her old friend Becca to investigate and they retrace all the moments leading up to the accident. But will this mystery cost more than lives and reputations? How far would you go to win your own battle of chess?
